Finally Qubee started unlimited services on all devices. As told yearlier that Qubee launched unlimited services in Sep,10 but it was limited to USB device named as shuttle. but now qubee is offering unlimited on all devices including wifi and nonwifi.


As per company officials, this step is taken after a huge demand from customers for unlimited on CPEs especially on Wifi device. futher more qubee has revised price plans to ajust unlimited packages. as earlier, they were offering max 18 gb on CPEs with monhtly line rent of 1000 for 512kbps speed and 1500 for 1mbps speed. Now the charges of 1mb 18gb has reduced to 1200 to accomodate 1mbps unlimited in 1500. This is a nice move. They have also increased min downloading limit from 6gb to 8gb following Wi-tribe.

If we study the above mentioned comparison we will notice following things.

1. If we talk about monthly chanrges, Qubee has an edge over Wi-tribe by providing best packages for every type of users.

2. You can use any device for any package in Qubee which is not the same for Witribe. you cant use usb for any package rather than a especial package. In this package you have to pay total 4000 upfront, 2500 for usb activation charges (non refundable) and 1500 as advance line rent for the one and only package designed for USB which is 512 with 15 gb limit for 1500/month. In Qubee you can take min package with USB as well as the max one with 1.5 mbps.

Services :

For CPEs, Qubee has a proper installation and verification process, which is a role model for other wireles operators who used to sell the device from their offices or retails and putting customer in problem. Yesi agree that witribe will refund the payment immediately if the customer is not satisfied but Qubee dont let you in this mess. If you bought some services, then obviously you want to use it rather then returning it. There is another fact that Some sales person will also come to your doorstep to let you check the services but Qubee sends you a proper installation team for providing you 200% services. There is another interesting fact that in Qubee, installation department rules :). If they find that signals are not 100 % and KPIs are not upto mark, they wont let sales department to process the sale any further.

Qubee Launched Prepay

 After wateen, Qubee is the second one to launch prepay services for wimax. But there is a lot of differences in Qubee's prepay. Wateen's prepay allows customer to enter a card of specific denomination for continuing services. For example, if you are using a package having 700/- month then after one month you have to recharge 700 to continue. but the case is different in the case of Qubee. You can load any amount and any time. you can load Rs 100 to enjoy 3 days. 250 for 7 days and 500 for 15 days. This is a new concept adopted by Qubee. there is something similar in Ptcl Evo but it is something more better. more econmical and more budgetly.

        Further more, there is one more plus point in this. the data volume you are assigned wont be eliminated with the expiry of card. It will be carry forward. there is no limit to recharge the card.

Qubee New Plans

Qubee. now a name of reliable broadband service in Rawalpindi/isb is going to be launched commercially very soon. Internal resources said that they are fully prepared for the launch. Although there are still many areas in Rwp/ISb where the coverage is still problematic. May be thats the reason for the delay. and they know very well that after launching commercially, they should have a burden of new bookings. and for that time they should have a blanket coverage.

Another resource also confirmed that Qubee has also realized the importance of Prepaid connection for better growth so they are going to do it very soon as well. May be both came at once. Whatever, being a good service provider, they should maintain there quality.

Unlimited downloads with QUBEE

Today with the launching of USB Shuttle device, Qubee also announced unlimited pakage. There is one limitation in this package that this package is only for USB. means you can not use the package with other devices of QUBEE. Some especial features about this package are as follows.

Qubee another Wimax service provider has launched its services in RWP/ISB yesterday. From today they have started sales. Yet now they havent officially announced or launched. there is nothing on the site as well but the help line confirmed that they have launched it un officially. Means services are available in Rwp and isb. Dealer/retailer in Islamabad said that islamabad is fully covered and qubee is fully operational in all islamabad. One of my frnd is also using the testing device which qubee has given to test the quality service as witribe did in start. Watever, there is another competitor in the market. Although Qubee is quiet expensive as compared to other wi max providers in advance security and bla bla. but i hope k after taking too much advance and deposits, it will provide a good service.

GPRS on your pc

GPRS is the solution to your connectivity when there is no other mean to connect. as now a lot lot of area is under coverage of cell phones so it means you can use internet where ever u want. although GPRS is quiet expensive as compared to other internet services like dialups, cable net, dsl or wifi. But due to its availability in the hour of need make it priceless. There are some things that almost every body needs to know. like prices, data speed, how to connect etc. let me do this for you. i dont know 100 % but i will try to deliver you as much as i can.

Rates : almost all the companies has a flat rate of gprs on the basis of usage and your unit is in Mb. like PKR 15/- per mb. if u use web through your mobile and only use sites that are build for mobiles, then its not too much costly. but if we try to connect it to pc or try to open sites made for pc on our cell, it will cost a lot. Zong has presented great packages for gprs like 2gb for 200/- and 4gb for 400/- 25 paisa per minutes based package etc. Recentaly zong came with another amazing pakage of using 5 rupees per hour. but the limitation is that you have to use that one hour in 24 hours. other wise it will be expired.

Control your data....in and out

If you are user of  PTCL, LinkDotNet or Micronet or any other ISP giving you unlimited downloads then you may dont need to read this post. But if you are limited data user of wateen, witribe or EVO then you will find this interesting for you. As i mentioned earlier, i am using wateen. I dont know why but whenever i connect my wateen, it start eating bytes, even i am not using any thing. so i start searching for something to control this data flow. i tried many things  but i found two of them very usefull and handy. so i want to tell you about this. These are sygate and netlimiter. these two softwares have different application but let me summarize a little

        Sygate is a firewall to allow/diss-allow any application to interact with internet. it will ask from user to allow or not. it will even notify you when windows wants to get the latest update and msn messenger before signing in.

        Netlimiter is another usefull application. although it works in same pattern but it has another advantage. it shows total incoming and outgoing data at the instant. means you can check your speed while watching a youtube video or listening a song. it can give you the speed in bytes, kilobytes and mega bytes. I was never able to get its register version or any crack. so if any body knows about it, then do tell me :).

Cheapest DSL internet connection.....

As i compared different packages of different companies but i found this the cheapest as if u have your own router then PTCL gives you in 840 + tax. for 1mb. Micronet gives 1200. wireless broadbands have downloading limits and their unlimited is 1400+. So i think this is the most cheapest DSL in pakistan.

Wateen Wimax.....eating Mega bytes

I just got a wateen as a gift from my friend in wateen. No doubt good service. but one thing that is noticable, bytes consumed too fast. Means as soon as the connection is established, it starts data flow in Mbs. Altough i havent browsed any heavy sites like youtube or any other such streaming site. but data keep flowing on higher rate. i closed internet explorer but it was flowing and flowing. I was concerned because it has limit of 5GB of data flow, which i was thinking, is enough but it wasnt. i have used almost 30% date flow in just 3 days. and from last 2 hours, i was just chating to a single person on msn and it took 50MB for this. just chat and this site. which is opened once and still i m writing into it. I installed a firewall to control the programs that are trying to automatically update but all in vain. I dont know whats the reason but i thnk it might be some trick to finish my data flow limit :). If some one from you know any thing about this do tell me. i will appreciate that.

Qubee : Another competitor.

Another Wimax company "QUBEE" has launched its wimax services in Karachi and planning to come to other major cities shortly. They have officialy launched in karachi with almost same packages that are being provided by other Wimax providers in Pakistan. A little bit relaxation in tarrif but almost the same. After price, 2nd thing that can bring customer, is service. So lets see whats going to be. Mobilink infinity, Qubee, Witribe and wateen, now these four will experience a great compition in the market.

Mobilink to launch Wimax in twin city.

As we all know that mobilink is offering its wimax brand in Karachi named Infinity. Now mobilink is going to provide its services in islamabad and rawalpindi very soon. Pakistan is now a days a hub for telecom providers. A lot of new companies with new brands are trying to penetrate in our nation. In my last post, i tried to figure out some main isps with prob and advantages. Yes now we need wimax technology as copper is not able to provide gud services at constant speed and fiber is not available in all areas. so i think wimax will be a good option but it require economical packages. Till now wateen, wi-tribe and EVO from ptcl are not good at rates. so i hope that mobilink will take an over view of all these things before coming to isb. I have also heared that they might be come with different brand name. as they have aquired linkdotnet. so may be they will rename the linkdotnet also and include wimax services in their package. But if they do so then mobilink will be first company to give dsl services at landline aswell as wireless. although ptcl is also giving wireless but thats too low and EVO thats not for home user.

Wateen Hits with USB dongle

Fianally, Wateen has launched his USB device. Although there is nothing about it on official site. but It is in the market. Security deposit is still off and you can take wateen connection with USB dongle by just giving subscription charges (1500 for 256&512 and 1000 for 1 mb) and one month advance service charges which are already mentioned on their site. Downloading Caps are still active i think as last night i talked to their representative. Watever, USB dongle is quiet better than old big device which didnt allow you a lot of mobility. With USB you are totally mobile. Now just wait for others remarks about service quality which is superior than any other wimax provider, According to wateen. One more advantage is that you dont have to pay line rent for phone as it was on previous big motorolla devices offered by wateen. So here is the formula for first payment.

Bing : A new competitor for Google?

From many years we all are well aware of Google being one of the best and fast search engine. Ever person that is a user of internet is a user of google too. Every thing you want to search is helped by google. Even the term browsing is also referred as Googling now a days showing the infuence of google on internet industry. 

Recentaly, Microsoft launched a new search engine named Bing. With colorfull themes, this new search engine is fast loader even on slow connection. I havent compared its no of searches as compared to google but it loads quite quickly even with themes. Searching results are also fast. Opera 10

Being related to internet, we came in touch with many browsers. Microsoft IE is the most common. Then there are many others in the list like firefox, netscape etc. But have you ever tried Opera. In start it wasnt good or no body found it advantegeous but now my personal opinion for persons having slow connections like GPRS or EDGE, Opera is quite good. Its new version Opera 10 is very beautifull, swift with turbo speed booster which can make ur internet experience a joy. I would recomend you all if u have Pentium 3 or higher and have any slow connection like above mentioned or V ptcl, 128 kbs or dialup then you should try it. You will feel the difference as i did.

Internet/DSL/Wimax Provider in Pakistan

Today i want to list some of the companies providing internet services in pakistan via line and without line. 

If we talk about providers on Landline they following companies are operating in Pakistan.

LinkDotNet

Cybernet

Micronet and Nayatell  (Rwp& ISB)

 

And there are also some companies giving wireless services. 

PTCl in the form of EVO and VPhone.

Witribe.

There are also cellular companies providing GPRS/EDGE services all over the paksitan. Although this services is the slowest one from the above mentioned but due to mobility and ease of access, it also has its worth. 

In my personal opinion In Rwp and isb ( as i am from here) Micronet is on TOP due to top quality services and fast customer care services. PTCL is a good service provider but its customer support lacks behind micronet. LinkDotNet, an orascom company, now basically a unit of mobilink, is also a good service provider but with a lot of billing problems. 

Int the category of wireless, EVO is going on the top due to 3.1 MB/s in just 1800 per month. but not every one is their customer so there are just some especial high internet users for them. Wi-tribe just started with mixed opinion, some people suggest that they have good services with good customer care but some also have opposite opinions. but i havent used it as i applied for it but its not available for my area. Wateen is also providing some good services but due to its line rent and hidden charges, they are loosing the market. Altough they just claimed to acheive the landmark of 10 million customers. I havent used but 3-4 of my friends are using wateeen and they passed these comments to me that when it works its the best and if it goes down then there is no body to save you. I write this article to give an overview of DSL providers in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. If some one has further Queries, then he can ask. 

Wateen........Witribe ........

Wateen again gave new packages and tried again to come back in market. But i dont think that it will help a lot as now consumers are more interested in unlimited downloads. So removing cap from their packages might give them a boost. Witribe is also facing the same problem. Downloading is a trend now. There is huge data on internet now and absolutely free. So every one wants to download them. So putting restriction on downloading is not good. If u want to download window vista or window 7 then you have wateen or witribe package with 5 GB limit. Then off course you wont pay 500 - 800 a month for this download. You will go to the market and will get the DVD in just 60-100 rupees. Other two or three companies, giving services on unlimited with affordable prices. PTCL, LinkDotNet and Micronet are good service providers. This is the thing those companies should think now. So here is a little message for both the companies. HAY YOU HAVE TO GIVE UNLIMITED DOWNLOAD IN LOW PRICE.

Witribe's soft launch and rates/teriff.

WI TRIBE : A new broadband service. just started its services in Rwp/ISB. Wi-tribe is based upon wireless technolgy giving users edge to get rid of wired stuff. Wi-tribe was testing its services from last 2-3 months and finally launched. Being a wireless service, it will depend on signals. Stronger the signals are, better the service will be. So it might be best in some areas and worst in some. But till now i dont know about its service quality. The person, used its free service claimed it to be a good service. But remeber they were in areas with good signals. so they were getting good services but lets welcum this new comer and give it time to grow then we will decide. So take their 7-days trial version and then comment on ma post.
